Borgo Albachiara

Borgo Albachiara – Putignano – Apulia

3 Bedrooms – Pool

Location and Surrounding Area. Located in one of the most appreciated areas in Southern Italy, just a few kilometres from the marvellous Adriatic coast, this exclusive property with garden and outdoor pool is ideally situated to offer complete privacy to its guests, providing a perfect retreat for those who want to explore this exclusive area. Famous for its whitewashed towns, excellent food, dramatic coastal cliffs and beautiful beaches, this area of Apulia features all the ingredients for the perfect vacation.

In just ten minutes by car, you can reach the town of Alberobello, perhaps the most famous town in the Valle d’Itria due to its typical trulli: the conical rooftops coupled with charming cobblestone alleys and whitewashed houses are a simply magical sight. The old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, consists of a maze of lovely streets and steps lined by trulli. Alberobello is considered a unique and enchanting place, and even though you may find it a bit touristy, it is definitely worth a visit.

In just twenty minutes by car, you can easily reach Locorotondo, a whitewashed hilltop town designated as one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. The old city radiates out around the 19th century neoclassical Chiesa Madre San Giorgio, a church dedicated to the patron saint of the city. Since Locorotondo is perched on a hill, you can get amazing views of the surrounding countryside from the Villa Comunale, the public garden located on the west side of the historic centre.

The villa is just a stone’s throw away from the town of Martina Franca, the largest town in the Valle d’Itria. Being in the heart of the valley, the town of Martina Franca is a great base from which to explore this wonderful area, but spend some time exploring its old centre, an interesting mix of golden baroque and Greek-like white architecture with many grand palazzi and churches, and a maze of narrow side streets perfect for aimless wandering.

The villa is also a few kilometres from Ostuni, also known as “the white city”. With its ancient cobblestone streets, grand churches and quaint white houses, Ostuni boasts remarkable history that goes back to the Stone Ages. The Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace are especially striking, but there are many other architectural gems to be found, including the old homes of the nobles: you would not be mistaken for thinking that you are wandering around a lovely Greek village.

Borgo Albachiara is 57 km from Bari Karol Wojtyla International Airport and 81 km from Brindisi Airport (also known as Salento Airport). Putignano is 4 km from the property, Alberobello is 12 km, Locorotondo is 20 km, Fasano is 23 km, Polignano a Mare is 24 km, Martina Franca is 26 km, Monopoli is 27 km, Cisternino is 30 km, Savelletri is 32 km, Bari is 45 km, Ostuni is 53 km, and Lecce is 120 km.

The Property. Located in the heart of the Valle d’Itria, Borgo Albachiara blends traditional and contemporary design creating an exclusive retreat for those seeking complete privacy and relaxation in one of the most evocative corners in Southern Italy. Surrounded by greenery, this exclusive property boasts a generous garden and an exceptional outdoor pool. Offering a calm atmosphere, Borgo Albachiara can sleep up to eight guests (six adults and two kids) in two rooms (with double bed and single bed) and a room with double sofa bed.

Surrounded by a lush garden with almond and cherry trees, the villa features an exceptional pool (heated, on request, extra) and a spacious poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind. During the day, guests can relax on the comfortable sofas under the shade of a pergola. Here you will also find a counter with induction hob and fridge. The counter is equipped with speakers so you can connect your devices and listen to your favourite music. Behind the pergola you will find an outdoor shower.

The water of the pool is sanitized with a slight salting, which makes it more pleasant, without chemicals, significantly reducing the annoying smell of chlorine. On request, the pool can be heated up to 38°C, giving the opportunity to enjoy the pool even in the cooler seasons (on request, extra). With a calm atmosphere, the property boasts 600 square meters of outdoor space, 300 of which feature a generous garden with trees, pool and shaded area, and private parking space with EV charging station.

Flooded with light, this exclusive villa features typical characteristics of the region with a modern twist. This villa has been carefully built while preserving the traditional Apulian atmosphere. The property is made up of an old building and a newly-built part, which are connected. The oldest part of about 60 square meters is made up of four rooms: a lamia used as a living area complete with comfortable sofa, dining table, TV and stone fireplace, and a fully-equipped kitchen with exposed stone walls.

In the oldest part, you will also find a mezzanine level with a room with a double bed and a single bed, a trullo – a traditional Apulian dry stone hut-shaped building – with a double sofa bed, and a bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi tub. The newly-built part of the property, connected to the oldest part, measures 35 square meters. This part features a double bed and a single bed, and a bathroom with shower. Here you will also find a fridge, a Nespresso coffee machine, and a kettle. The single beds are more suitable for kids.
