Casa Alma – Monteu Roero
3 Bedrooms
Location and Surrounding Area
Surrounded by the spectacular scenery of rolling hills and Langhe vineyards, this exclusive three-bedroom villa boasts an impressive sense of comfort, plenty of natural light, and a tranquil atmosphere, providing the ultimate retreat in one of the most evocative corners in Northern Italy. Whether sampling the new wines of the spring, picnicking in the vineyards, or hunting autumnal truffles, staying at Casa Alma allows you to enjoy Piedmont across all its wonderful seasons.
Most of the visitors to the Piedmont are drawn to the many wine-tasting opportunities: this wine region produces the largest number of DOCG wines, the best quality you can get according to Italian law. Another great highlight of Piedmont is the food. Some of the cuisine you are likely to see on the menu includes Piemontese beef, home-made agnolotti, hazelnut-based desserts and the best specialty of all, white truffles from Alba, which is known as the center of gastronomy in this area.
Alba’s pugnacious skyline is studded with medieval towers, but at ground level, this gateway to the Langhe and Roero wine regions is made up of upscale boutiques, wine bars, and delis selling every imaginable variety of cheese, salami, wine, and truffle. Nearby Bra, another of those neat Piedmontese villages with a nose for business in addition to flowery attractiveness, is the headquarters of the Slow Food movement, which started here in the 1980s.
When not making the most of the food and wine, take time to explore this relaxed and spectacular area. Visit medieval villages, many with historic castles, cycle through the charming countryside, follow walking trails through the vineyards or visit the local towns. Do not miss Turin, the capital of Piedmont, rich in history and culture. Among its most important monuments are the Cathedral that houses the Holy Shroud, the Real Church of San Lorenzo, the Sanctuary of the Consolata, and the Mole Antonelliana.
Among the beautiful landscapes of the Piedmont region, Lake Maggiore is certainly not to be missed. A heavenly place that will make your holiday more rewarding and relaxing. A must visit are the small towns overlooking the lake such as Stresa and Verbania and, above all, the Borromean Islands, spearheads of Lake Maggiore, for their historical and naturalistic charm. Among these, La Bella Island and La Madre Island are definitively unmissable.
Casa Alma is 80 km from Turin Airport, 139 km from Genoa Airport, and 179 km from Milan Malpensa Airport. The property is close to the small village of Monteu Roero, where you will find some bars and restaurants.
